Kia Ora, Hello…
Thanks for showing an interest in my work.
I grew up in the bush… Titirangi  West Auckland,  New Zealand.
I found out from a very early age that what I loved to do best was draw pictures or play music… Roaming the dense bush, exploring the West Coast beaches of Kare Kare, Piha,
and the rest of the Waitakere Ranges started me on my journey.

I always wanted to be an artist and have now made my living from art for over 40 years.
I have no formal training but in the 1970′s started my career by working in a design studio in Auckland as a Commercial Artist.  Since those early days, I have travelled extensively, and made my living from art along the way.

In 1988 I moved North to Whangarei Heads, and now live on 5 acres at Sandy Bay, Tutukaka Coast with my long time partner Fiona McClurg.

A West Coaster living on the East Coast…

The aim of my art is not only to portray the beauty that surrounds us, but also to draw strong attention to the  fragility of our natural heritage.  I am passionate about the Environment and am grateful to be able to use my art to help with a variety of causes.
Particularly, the fight to save the Ngunguru Sandspit from development.  As you will see in my work, I love trees and try to portray them as the wonderful living treasures that they are. I am forever amazed at the beauty I see around me.  This is the main influence on my art, my music, and my life.

Thank you for exploring my world and please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information.

I am also happy to discuss any commission work you may have in mind…

Steve Moase.
